RITMO® – Therapeutic Hypnosis
Inspired by EMDR in Berlin
Emotional Trauma & Emotional Release – RITMO® Sessions
Therapeutic support in Berlin and online
WHAT is RITMO®
RITMO® (Reprocessing of Traumatic Information through Eye Movements) is an innovative method designed to help individuals overcome emotional blockages and trauma. It enables rapid release from negative experiences that may unconsciously affect us.
Inspired by EMDR, this technique addresses post-traumatic issues through bilateral stimulation—visual, auditory, or physical (such as tapping on hands or knees)—from left to right, while allowing the individual to revisit their memory.
Some individuals may experience anxiety, nightmares, or flashbacks when a trigger reminds them of a traumatic experience, leading to what is known as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). RITMO® helps to diffuse, unblock, and release these traumatic experiences from their emotional charge and cognitive distortions, facilitating the reprocessing of information.
This allows individuals to move beyond the traumatic phase, alter their perception, and tap into new resources in their present reality.
For instance, a person who has experienced an assault can recall the event without feeling the weight of negative emotions.
Who is RITMO® for?
RITMO® is suitable for people experiencing emotional difficulties related to:
-
Psychological trauma (accidents, assaults, abuse, bereavement, serious illness, natural disasters)
-
Emotional blockages and limiting patterns
-
Anxiety, fears, and emotional distress
-
Lack of self-confidence
-
Development of personal skills (creativity, endurance, performance)
-
Chronic pain
-
Support in addiction recovery
-
RITMO® is most commonly used for single-event trauma, but it can also be effective for broader emotional and behavioral patterns.
How does a RITMO® session work?
RITMO® sessions take place in my private practice in Berlin (Kreuzberg & Schöneberg) or online, in French, German, and English.
Each session begins with a preliminary discussion to identify the issue and establish a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship. This is followed by guided visualization and bilateral stimulation (eye movements, sounds, or gentle tapping) while the person focuses on the targeted memory or emotional experience.
The goal is to reduce emotional distress, transform the perception of the event, and activate new mental and emotional resources.
RITMO® is a brief therapy tool, and in many cases, only one to a few sessions are needed.
RITMO® and EMDR – Inspiration and therapeutic framework
RITMO® is inspired by the principles of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a psychotherapy approach developed by Francine Shapiro for the treatment of trauma.
EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or alternating sounds) to support the brain’s natural information processing.
RITMO® integrates these principles within a hypnotherapeutic framework, while remaining a distinct method. It is used to work with emotional blockages and mild to moderate traumatic experiences, in a safe and structured therapeutic setting.
